How to crop PDF margins and remove white space
Why crop a PDF
Wide margins waste space. On an e-reader or a phone they shrink the text you actually want to read; on paper they waste ink and make scanned pages look sloppy. Scans add their own problems: dark borders from the scanner lid, a strip of the next page, or a punched-hole edge down one side.
Cropping trims the page boundaries so only the content area remains. Nothing on the page is re-rendered, so text stays crisp and images keep their original resolution.
How PurePDF’s crop works
You choose a percentage to trim, and that margin is cut evenly from the edges of every page in one pass. Because the same trim applies throughout, the cropped document keeps a consistent page size and layout, which is what you want for reading, printing, or binding. Setting the margin to 0 leaves the current page area as it is.
Preview the result before exporting. Increase the percentage until the white border or scanner edge disappears, and stop before any of your content is clipped. The exported PDF has no watermark.

What cropping does and does not do
Cropping changes the visible page area. Every standard PDF reader displays only the cropped region, and prints it that way too. It is not a way to hide sensitive information, though: content outside the visible area can still exist in the file. To remove confidential text for good, use Redact PDF instead.
