What PDF bookmarks are
Bookmarks, also called outlines, are the clickable navigation panel PDF readers show beside a document. Each entry jumps to a page, and entries can nest, so a long report can show chapters with sections underneath. For documents of more than a few pages, bookmarks are the difference between navigating and scrolling.
How to add bookmarks
List the bookmarks you want, each with a title and the page it should open. To create a hierarchy, add child entries under a bookmark, for example sections under a chapter. The tool writes the outline into the PDF, and you can check it in the preview before exporting.
